South Africa is a year round destination. The Cape peninsula and Southern region has a typically Mediterranean climate, while the weather in the interior, on the high veld, is moderate.
Only the Kruger Park and Northern Province could really be described as subtropical. Mid summer is December/January. Winter in its peak is June/July. There are so many attractions available in any part of Africa whether you are on a family holiday or your honeymoon or are looking for a safari break or a beach holiday.
Safari Holiday - Within the four safari destinations of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia, there are also a variety of destinations and price of lodges. In South Africa the Leopard Hills Game Reserve or the Etali Safari Lodge are examples of two popular places to stay whereas in Zimbabwe the Victoria Falls Hotel or the Makalolo Plains are excellent places to stay.
Cape Town -This is a very popular destination in Africa, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront has many shops and restaurants to accommodate the visitors in this area. The Winelands are also another area of interest and are about 45 minutes drive from the town. They offer more relaxed smaller hotels in stunning scenery whereas Hermanus is about 1hr30 minutes drive from town, and is on the coast, where whales can be seen from September to December.
The Garden Route - has a lot to offer visitors. There is quality accommodation to get away from it all such as the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate or Hunters Country House.
Kwazulu Natal - known for the mixture of mountain scenery and coastal wilderness this area is well worth a visit and has so much accommodation to choose from. Rocktail Bay Lodge on the coast of the Indian Ocean or Fugitives Drift Lodge would be a great choice of accommodation.
Victoria Falls - has some of the most beautiful luxurious accommodation on offer. The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and Victoria Falls Hotel are exceptional with a whole host of activities on offer from helicopter trips; elephant back safaris and white water rafting. The River Club above the Zambezi River has its own open fronted private suites.
